Down...But Definitely NOT OUT !
It has been almost four months since I last posted an entry into my blog. I am very sure that many of you had been wondering what had happened to yours truly...
On 23rd January 2007, I was admitted to the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) for a relapse of my old condition. Many of you would have known what I have been facing since late 1983. Anyway, I fondly call HUKM as "Hotel UKM" as I got the rest I richly deserved after a month or two of haywire sleeping habits, or "undersleeping". The doctors, nurses and other aides were simply great making my stay at HUKM a time to recuperate and rejuvenate. I was discharged on 5th March 2007.
March 2007 will go down as a roller-coaster month for my family and I. You see, my former landlord wanted his apartment back as they plan to sell it. I had about a month to get an apartment to rent. Thanks to my wife, Nor Hawa, she managed to get first-hand information on an apartment that was just vacated a day or two ago. The challenge is to raise sufficient cash to enable us to get the keys. I did manage to get the necessary cash single-handedly and we finally moved into an apartment for rent just opposite our former block on 31st March 2007.
I did not hire any movers. Instead, Rosli, the husband of my wife's sister managed to persuade some of his friends to help move our belongings. We left the heavier items to them, while my family, my in-law's and I moved the lighter things. That day was really long and tiring. And it rained ferociously in the late afternoon, maybe as a sign that the TIGER is back!
Getting my land telephone transferred should have been done earlier and not later. As a result, we were not able to use the phone to make calls, which is, of course, much cheaper than using mobile hand phones. The phone got hooked on 5th May 2007 and my broadband got connected three days later.
I will remember 12th April 2007 for as long as I live. On that fateful day @ 11.20 p.m., my beloved mum passed away after a two and a half year fight against cancer of the ovary. She was admitted to the University Malaya Medical Centre five days before her demise after ill health. I last saw her on 9th April 2007, not knowing it would be the last time that I would see her alive. My mum's name is AMINAH and she had been a tower of strength to my three other siblings and I. Before going away forever, my mum took pains to write her life story on paper and requested me to expand on it and make it interesting. I hope to embark on this book as soon as my I finish my first book. Oh God, please give my mum HEAVEN, for all the toil she had endured and sacrifices she had made. My mum was laid to rest at the Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery. And up till today, I never fail to say a prayer for my mum each time I think of her.
My auto surfing exploits had all but totally crumbled. I have to start from scratch. I'm branching off to other facets of Internet marketing like traffic exchanges, super-affiliates, list builders and what not. Wish me well...
