OOHs and AAHs

Not many of my friends knew that I was without an internet connection for a month. So many things happened during this period! South Africa a.k.a. The Springboks won the Rugby World Cup in France. I saw that game and it was quite an absorbing and interesting match. I had hoped for an English victory but The Springboks proved to be the better team. Well, much credit to the English team for giving a fighting performance.

Norwich City FC lost their manager when Peter Grant parted ways with the Canaries a few weeks back. The Canaries are in serious trouble now, being second from bottom in the English Championship. I hope they can cut the rot and go back to their winning ways. I will be very sad if they are to be relegated to League One next season.

In the Barclay's Premier League, Arsenal and Manchester United are the front runners. My second favourite team, Liverpool, are not doing too bad. But they have lost twice in the Champions League group stage so far, the latest being the 1-2 defeat to Besiktas of Turkey. Rafa has to do something serious quickly.

Roger Federer lost at last. Congrats to David Nalbandian who proved that somebody can stop the once unstoppable FedEx. Also congrats to Justine Henin for her recent victory.
