Double Whammy For Aussies!
First, the New Zealand All-Blacks rugby team triumphed over the Australian Wallabies 26-12 in Auckland yesterday to claim the Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations in one go. On a wet day and having been criticised heavily for the past few weeks, the All-Blacks produced a superb performance to outplay the Wallabies, handling the ball well.
Then, also yesterday, in Hanoi, Vietnam, the Japanese soccer team outscored the Socceroos 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out that broke all Aussie soccer diehards. That match ended 1-1 in regulation time after a goal a piece from Aussie John Aloisi and Japanese Shunsuke Nakamura. Finally, the Japanese soccer team had its revenge after losing to the Socceroos in the 2006 World Cup in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Come on, Aussie, come on, come on...
