Will The Canaries' Wings Be Clipped
"The Canaries" is the nickname for the English Championship soccer club Norwich City F.C. I have supported this club since 1975 and this year marks almost 35 years of allegiance with the club who wears yellow and green for its jersey kits. Things are not too rosy for them at the moment. The Canaries are only one place above the relegation zone with another 21 points left for them to win. It would really break my heart if they were to be relegated to League One (the old Division Three) as when they were relegated from the Premiership a couple of seasons ago. I remember, before the introduction of the EPL, Norwich were leading the whole league by a massive 8 points only to fumble in a few games and finally managing to finish third in the First Division. This was their best achievement yet, not to mention the League Cup won in the mid-nineties. To all Norwich City FC players, please show what you are made off. And to the fans, make sure your presence is felt, especially during home games. Our league standing is definitely not a reflection of the standard of soccer The Canaries play. I am sure many of you would agree with me. Keep on fighting, Canaries! And maybe we would play with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the 2010-2011 season.
