Happy Ramadan!

Yesterday was the first day of Ramadan. All Muslims are required to fast from pre-dawn to sunset for a month. It has been scientifically proven that fasting is good for one's health. After eating for a year, it is only common sense to give our stomachs a break. While fasting, Muslims are prohibited from eating and drinking. We are also required not to commit any sins. What sets out fasting in Islam from other religions is that Muslims are recommended to take sahur, or a meal, before dawn. This meal will give the necessary energy required to last the day. I started fasting since I was 10 years old. To all Muslims, I wish you Happy Fasting!
