PMR 2012

My only child daughter, Shahidatul Soleha, will be sitting for her Form 3 PMR examinations in 2012. Although I do not expect her to get straight A's for her PMR. An A or two in any subject will generally please me. It had been a though 8 years for her as English is the medium of instruction for the subjects of Mathematics and Science. She had been struggling in both subjects for a long time. My wife and I decided to get a home tutor to teach Soleha English in a holistic manner. Yes, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Maybe, it is easier said than done. Although my English is quite okay, I do not make it a habit to speak English at home with my daughter. My fault. Now, I am trying to catch up for lost time. An idea is to introduce 5 new English words to her daily. Get her to understand its meaning and use them to construct sentences. I am not too worried about her Malay Language as she is quite proficient. Nevertheless, I must remind her not to take the Malay Language for granted. It is not easy to get an A in PMR than most people think. Anyway, I have promised myself to do what I possibly can to ensure Soleha's success in the upcoming PMR 2012. Go, go, go, Soleha!!!
