After Liverpool's 4-1 thumping of Manure at Old Trafford last weekend, Manure's worst defeat at home since 1936, another "record" fell at Craven Cottage, the home ground of the English Premiership soccer club Fulham F.C. Many would be glad that Manure suffered back-to-back league losses for the first time in 147 games. Quite a record to go down tumbling. I salute Fulham for not playing negative soccer. I do not know what Paul Scholes was thinking when he raised both his hands to block a certain goal. To the delirious chants of the Fulham supporters and Manure-haters, Scholes was red-carded for the eigth time in his professional career. Fulham simply did not let Manure play flowing soccer after Danny Murphy converted a superb penalty kick. Manure had threatened briefly after the break. Only for Rooney to revert back to his schoolboy behaviour by throwing the ball away after a second bookable offence. He then stormed down the tunnel knowing that he was at fault, face red. To put icing on the cake, Fulham scored their second goal with three minutes left of normal time. Well, what can I say. Well done, Fulham. And well done, Spurs, who, by defeating Chelsea 1-0, gave Liverpool a good chance to catch up with Manure. This will be the case if Liverpool can beat Aston Villa away. This match promises to be something worth viewing, even for the neutrals.
Way To Go, Canaries!
Norwich City F.C. increased their chances of staying up in the English Championship after earning a credible draw at high-flying Birmingham City. The match was played on Saturday, 21st March 2009 at St. Andrews. Birmingham lead by a 38th minute goal from Jerome before the Canaries equalised through a 53rd minute goal from Sammy Clingan. Five games ago, I thought my beloved club would be doomed and suffer relegation. But to their credit, the Canaries collected 7 points from a possible 9 in their last three games. My hope is that you players give your best and wear that yellow and green jersey kit with pride. Show them what you've got. We can, we must, we will....

Will The Canaries' Wings Be Clipped
"The Canaries" is the nickname for the English Championship soccer club Norwich City F.C. I have supported this club since 1975 and this year marks almost 35 years of allegiance with the club who wears yellow and green for its jersey kits. Things are not too rosy for them at the moment. The Canaries are only one place above the relegation zone with another 21 points left for them to win. It would really break my heart if they were to be relegated to League One (the old Division Three) as when they were relegated from the Premiership a couple of seasons ago. I remember, before the introduction of the EPL, Norwich were leading the whole league by a massive 8 points only to fumble in a few games and finally managing to finish third in the First Division. This was their best achievement yet, not to mention the League Cup won in the mid-nineties. To all Norwich City FC players, please show what you are made off. And to the fans, make sure your presence is felt, especially during home games. Our league standing is definitely not a reflection of the standard of soccer The Canaries play. I am sure many of you would agree with me. Keep on fighting, Canaries! And maybe we would play with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the 2010-2011 season.
