My Sweet And Sour Autosurfing Experience

I have been autosurfing for more than a year now. In March last year, I received an unsolicited e-mail inviting me to view a money-making website. At first I was quite skeptical and procrastinated. Eventually, I visited the mentioned site and joined the infamous 4daily.com site. I autosurfed as a free member for a few weeks before eventually had the funds to invest in this site. With the help of my upline, I put in USD100 into 4daily.com using his Stormpay account. All went well for the next few months. Sometime in June 2005, 4daily.com began encountering problems. Fair enough, I continued autosurfing. There came a stage where my constant compounding resulted in my account balance had ballooned from a start of USD100 to USD2,000. Then, the really bad news came. 4daily.com's thieving owner, Jim Hunt, decided to zerorised all accounts of his customers. I was in a state of shock because my virtual cash of USD2,000 evaporated at an instant. Actually, I just suffered USD100 in losses. But the loss of the rest of the virtual profit came as a bitter pill to swallow.

Next, came what to be an extremely popular autosurfing website called 12dailypro. I started investing funds in 12dailypro in the hundreds. At first, all went well. 12dailypro was paying all members. Everyone was satisfied and the membership base began to increase exponentially. In early December 2005, I decided to withdraw around USD550 from the profits gained in 12dailypro. As a result, I managed to get my invested capital back plus a 100% profit above it. This action proved wise as in late January, the scheming payment processor by the name of Stormpay decided to freeze the funds of many autosurfing websites making all sorts of excuses in the process. Gradually, many websites were forced to close down resulting in losses for many people all over the world. 12dailypro was one of the many websites affected. In the end, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of United States ordered 12dailypro to be shut down and entered into receivership. At that moment, I was waiting for a payout of about USD1,400. Luckily, this is all my virtual profit.

The next straw was with 24dailypro. I invested almost USD1,000 in this site through Stormpay. 24dailypro managed to pay me around USD230 before the Stormpay fiasco forced them to shut down their site temporarily. What I am not satisfied with was the fact that when 24dailypro reopened, I could not access my account with my registration details. I was expecting a payout of around USD1,400 when Stormpay began stealing from people the world over. To this day, 24dailypro had not offered any kind of explanation even after I e-mailed them.
Presently, I am surfing around 20 traffic exchange autosurfing sites. Most of them as a free member. I am expecting payouts from three sites anytime and I am transferring my expired upgrades from a fourth site to its sister site. My advice to all of you is not to invest money you cannot afford to lose. Invest ONLY if you afford to lose as there are many scam sites out there. Next, if you intend to invest, make sure you DIVERSIFY. Do not put all eggs into one basket like I did previously. I learnt my lesson the hard way. Do not be greedy and research a site before you make up your mind to invest your hard-earned funds in them.

All the best and be careful out there!

Electricity Tariff Hike

The Barisan Nasional (National Front) government has done it again!

First it was the fuel hike a few months back, which got the masses angry and dumbfounded. Now, it is the electricity tariff which will increase effective June 1st 2006. I reckon if the government announced the rise before the Sarawak state elections, she would have lost more than the nine seats captured by the opposition.

I will be affected by this hike and this is real bad news...

Problems, Opportunities And Friends

My stepmother once said that problems are opportunities. This is true to a certain extent, depending on which angle you choose to see. Nobody can say that they do not have problems. Rich people have problems, what more the not so rich ones. Life without problems can be quite boring. When you encounter a certain problem, you are forced to use your brains a bit more. In this way, you will find out appropriate solutions that you had never thought about before. Problems bring out the best in all of us.

Here are where friends come in. Everybody has a friend. Many friends give free advice on how we tackle the problems we are facing. It is entirely up to us to filter the good, the bad and the impractical ones. I have been out with a few friends lately. All know what kind of problems I am currently facing. You know what, they gave me many practical ideas for me to consider. That is what I am doing now. Of course, all these relate to money.

I am now thinking to get myself involved in either the selling of unit trusts, general insurance or direct-selling, or any two of them, or all of them. This requires some confidence in my latent ability and to learn new things. No problem! We do not stop learning until we die. I know that if I try hard enough and persevere, I will yet make something out of my new ventures. Only time will tell...

Wish me well, please!

AGM

The VIOBA and VIOBA Foundation annual general meetings were held last Sunday on 21st May 2006. It was a fine morning, not too hot. Members started trickling in as early as 9.30 a.m. When quorum was reached, the VIOBA AGM commenced at around 10.15 a.m. and later the VIOBA Foundation AGM got under way at 11.30 a.m.

Reports were given and elections held. I am pleased to inform all of you that I successfully retained my honorary secretary's post of VIOBA Foundation contested. From the VI batch of 1981, Andrew Abishegam and Sean Oon Chong Ling were elected. The former as Vice-President of VIOBA and board member of VIOBA Foundation, while the latter as committee member of VIOBA.

All in all, both the AGMs ran smoothly without any hiccups. Almost sixty members were present, which was an improvement over 2005's attendance.

Here's to a much more better year for both VIOBA and VIOBA Foundation!

Happy Mother's Day!

Yesterday was Mother's Day. My mother's name is Hajjah Aminah Binti Haji Bidin. She was born on June 16, 1935 at Pontian Kecil. Both of her parents migrated from the Java Island of Indonesia and stayed in Singapore. My mother was a trainee nurse before she quit to marry my late father. My mother has always sacrificed a lot for my well-being. I know she has spent thousands on me, not counting the love, devotion and dedication showed to me in the past and the present. Only God can repay what she had done for me and before she dies, I hope to show her some happiness of some sort. I am guilty of troubling my mother now and then. She worries a lot about me and I am sad that I cannot make her happy all the time. Mummy, you are the best mother one could ask for. As you go through the twilight of your life, I hope you have many, many more happy moments and remember all the happy memories we had had together. Long live my mother!

Malaysia's Thomas Cup Campaign Ends

The Malaysian badminton team's campaign in the Thomas Cup has ended when they lost 2-3 to Denmark in the semi-final. The whole match had been one of the longest in history, with Denmark's turning point came when Malaysia's second singles player, Muhd. Hafiz Hashim lost in a rubber game, making the score 2-1 in Denmark's favour. Malaysia levelled the score at 2-2 with their second doubles pair before Denmark snatched victory through their third singles. The Malaysians sorely missed team captain Wong Choong Han who was injured in the quarter-final match against the South Koreans.

A Friend In Need...

My life had been a colourful one. I am blessed with many friends who are supportive of my predicament financially. They had come forward time and again when I had problems financially. An example is when I had to sell my apartment in 2004. I had a huge outstanding bill for my apartment's maintenance fees and also I did not have the money to move into a new rented place. My friends chipped in to cover these two payments. To all of you, especially VI batch of 1981/1983, I would like to thank those who had helped me in trying times from the bottom of my heart. Only God could repay your kind deeds and generosity.
What I need now is a steady full-time job sooner rather than later. I hope all of you out there can help me find one. I do not need a high paying job. Just a job that pays me enough to cover my bills. If you want my CV, kindly e-mail me at akram98@pd.jaring.my and I will be glad enough to send it to you. Right now, I am barely surviving, hoping that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Oh! God, please make me strong in these trying times...

Malaysian Shuttlers Reach Semi-Final

The Malaysian badminton team overcame a scare from being 1-2 down and successfully defeated the South Korean side 3-2 in the Thomas Cup quarter-final in Tokyo, Japan. Malaysia's winning point came from Muhd. Hafiz Hashim who won his match in straight games. Malaysia will now meet Denmark in Friday's semi-final with the winners meeting either China or Indonesia in the final. Well done, boys!

Change After Success

Some successful people are real snobs. They let success get into their head. A few hours ago, I SMSed two friends who are successful in their own right. Alas, I did not even get a reply! We must all realise that success is not permanent. You may be successful today, but tomorrow you can be an outright failure!
To all successful snobs out there, I hope you do not forget that success is God's gift to you. Never misuse it. It is just another test from God. It does not matter whether you are successful in life, or otherwise. These two situations are just tests of our devotion to God.
The ultimate success is not success in this world, but rather success in the hereafter. In the hereafter, if you are successful, it means that you have entered heaven. Who does not want to enter heaven after they die? Heaven promises all the earth can provide and much, much more. But how many of us live our lives in a way that our deeds and belief can guarantee us heaven?

Happy Labour Day!

Today is Labour Day. Most of you are on holiday. Not many of us are fortunate enough to be born with a silver spoon in the mouth. Therefore, most of us have to work to earn a living. Work never finishes. So, do not spend too much time in the office, unless you are a workaholic. Remember, if you are married, your family needs your constant attention and also affection. Try not to put issues at work above family matters. In the end, if anything bad happens to you, it is your family that will support you through and through, not your employers. Of course work is important. So is our family. Make it a point to spend quality time with your family and do your very best to juggle the demands of your work and family needs. Family is everything!

Malaysian Shuttlers Reach Quarter-Final

In this year's Thomas Cup which is being held in Japan, the Malaysian badminton team whitewashed England 5-0 to set up a quarter-final encounter with South Korea, provided the Koreans finish off the German team in their last fixture. Malaysia last won the Thomas Cup in 1992 when it was held at Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This team then was spearheaded by the famous Sidek brothers - Rashid, Razif and Jailani.

Canaries Finish Season With A Defeat

Norwich City FC finished their Championship season with a 1-2 home defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Robert Earnshaw scored for the Canaries. With this defeat, the Canaries finished at ninth spot, hoping to mount a serious challenge for next season. Many fans had called for manager Nigel Worthington's head, but I must say that he had done a good job so far. Be patient, Canaries' fans! I hope the 2006/2007 season will bring glory to the Norwich side and we will get promoted to the Premiership again for the chance to play against teams like Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. All the best for next season, you guys!
