Super Start To EPL!

Wow! Liverpool and Manure lost a game each so far. Spurs and Chelsea maintained their 100% winning start. Defoe leads the goal scoring charts with 4 goals from 3 matches. With Rooney and Drogba trailing close with 3 goals a piece. I tell you this 2009/2010 season will be explosive. We are not talking about a top 4 anymore, i.e. Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manure. But, probably a top 6 or 7. Spurs have shown that they have the class in their perfect start. Everton are always there, too, based on past seasons. New boys, Burnley, have shocked everybody. First, by beating Manure. Then, by winning 2 out of 3 initial matches. Liverpool are to play tonight. Hopefully, they would turn on their class to overcome Aston Villa. Go REDS! And YOU NEVER WALK ALONE!

P.S. The good news is that my childhood team, Norwich City F.C. recorded their first win of the season by defeating Wycombe Wanderers 5-2. Great stuff there, Canaries!

Lambert Quits U's For Canaries Job

Paul Lambert has quit as Colchester manager to replace Bryan Gunn in the Norwich hotseat on a rolling contract at Carrow Road.

Gunn was only relieved of his duties four days ago following a humiliating 7-1 defeat at the hands of Lambert's Colchester.

The 40-year-old former Celtic midfielder had guided Colchester to two wins from their opening two games of the new League One season, and has impressed the City hierarchy enough to have been offered the job.

"It's a big club and there is no way we should be where we are," he told Norwich's official website.

"We want to get promoted but we certainly understand there are going to be some challenges if that is going to become a reality."

Lambert took over at Colchester in October 2008, having previously managed Livingston and Wycombe. He is charged with guiding Norwich back into the Championship following their relegation at the end of last season.

Ian Butterworth oversaw Saturday's 1-1 draw with Exeter and will also lead the team against Brentford on Tuesday evening while Lambert watches from the stands.

"We're absolutely delighted to announce Paul as our new manager," said City chief executive David McNally.

"He was our number one choice and fulfils all the criteria the board had set."

The two clubs are discussing a compensation package.

Goodbye, Alonso!

As an avid Liverpool supporter, I am sure fans of the club will be saddened by the departure of Xabi Alonso, the experienced Spanish 27-year old Reds midfielder. Real Madrid snapped Xabi up for a reported fee of 30 million euros, being the eighth player bought by the Galacticos squad, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema. Xabi was Rafa Benitez first signing when he took over the reins of Anfield, buying Xabi for 10.5 million pounds from the Spanish club Real Sociedad in 2004. Xabi is also a regular with the Spanish squad since 2003 and helped the Spaniards win the Euro 2008 championship. He was also instrumental in the Reds victory in the unforgettable Champions League final against AC Milan in 2005 and in the English FA Cup the following year. After five seasons with Liverpool, Xabi has just undergone a medical test with Real Madrid and has signed a five year deal. During his days with the Reds, he was famous for his skills and ball control and is seen by Real Madrid president, Florentiono Perez, as the midfield player to balance his defensive line-up. I wish Xabi all the best and thank him for his services during his stint at Liverpool. He will certainly light up many Barnebeu nights.

People Whom I Hate (Part I)

The people I resent most are those who bring massive deaths, painful sufferings, untold despair and wanton destruction of both mankind and Planet Earth. Two examples come immediately to mind. First, Israel's mind-boggling ego that they think they are entitled to the land that they forcefully occupy presently. And their seemingly stubborn resistance to international pressure to recognise Palestine as a rightful sovereign state. This does not include the uncountable misery, deaths and torture that they have propagated against the people of Palestine. Why must Israel still enlarge their area of the building of homes of their people on occupied land? Is this not daylight massive disregard for international laws??? And the United Nations are just PURE HOPELESS in this regard! Secondly, the United States of America. The WORLD'S BIGGEST BULLY!!! Who could forget Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and, now, Afghanistan. Don't get me wrong. I'm not against the people of USA. It is the ADMINISTRATION that I deeply resent and forever abhor. Enough said!!!
