The World Cup 2014 Semi-Finals Are Here!

It is now just a matter of a few more hours before the World Cup 2014 semi-finals in Brazil kicks off. Host nation, Brazil, as expected, will meet Germany for a spot in the prestigious final. Without striker Neymar, and captain Thiago Silva, Brazil faces an uphill task to overcome a seemingly ruthless, clinical and efficient Germany. The latter of course start as favourites, but in football, anything can happen.

In the other semi-final, Argentina and Holland lock horns in a match where the Argentine team start as slight favourites. But Holland, with the likes of Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder can all prove to be match-winners. Lionel Messi will be a heavily marked man where a low-scoring match is expected, but who knows?

May the best two teams both advance to the finals!

It is just another 11 days before the Football World Cup 2014 kicks off in Brazil. This much anticipated football showcase is touted as the event with the most potential viewers. Billions will be viewing each and every match with great interest and enthusiasm. Hosts, Brazil, will off course start as favourites for the title, but holders, Spain are no pushovers, too. Although I support England, frankly-speaking, I will be delighted if they can even qualify for the later stages from their group. How I wish I could be in Brazil! I bet you do, too. Anything can happen and will happen. There will be many upsets and this is part and parcel of the World Cup. May the best team win!!
